The money you owe should be paid straight away in full, unless we have agreed to an alternative arrangement with you. If you can’t pay everything you owe now, you may qualify for a payment plan. This is where we can take a little pressure off your finances by accepting a regular amount from you over a longer period.

However, we do need you to be fully open with us and to show us:

• that you genuinely cannot pay now, and need this extra help – and
• that you can meet and keep to a fair new arrangement taking into account your income, essential outgoings and all your other financial commitments - and
• you will not take out additional credit during this period.

In most cases, we should also be able to ‘stop the clock’ and prevent extra interest being added to your debt.
